Hard Rock Cafe Comes to Bangalore

A long time back, I came across this article (pay special attention to left pane, “Coming Soon” section), but was apprehensive about it. It’s always on the web sites, news papers, but never happens or takes too long in reality.

Apparently, now it’s getting ready. Where, you ask? Well, what used to be one of my favorite hangouts – the place where Barista used to be on St. Marks Road. I’m still mad about them closing down Barista, but I think this kind of puts the fire out. :-)

The place is getting ready to Rock and Roll! :-)

  1. Aha! So HRC is gonna open at that location. That is one heck of a location.

I still cannot believe that they closed down that Barista :(

  2. PizzaDude : Barista closed down a long time ago. I remember posting an article about it. But yeah, that’s one heck of a location. :-)

  3. Finally we went to the hard rock cafe’. It is by far the worst hard rock cafe’ i have been to in any country. I ordered a veggie burger thinking i’m in india they ought to know what to do! Well, it was mushed potato patty on a bun with onions etc. It was like pao bhaji? I couldn’t eat it. The beers are expensive but good belgian selection. I should have just had fries and potato skins.
I would much rather go to Koshy’s across the street which is one of my favorite hangouts. Prem will whip up a burger or mac and cheese and he knows what it should taste like!

Disgusting place!!!! Cool bar. It is a place to be seen for young bangaloreans
so they feel they are cool and hip and up with the rest of the world!

  4. PV : A lot of people have been unhappy about HRC Bangalore. More specifically on the way it’s run. I felt it was overcrowded – they should know when to *stop* letting people in. Too much confusion, too chaotic.

    Hope that changes.

I was on a brief vacation in India recently and had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe in Bangalore. The plkace is nice, with a decent bar and friendly staff. I ordered a veggie burger and, as PV noted above, it was the worst one I ever had. I can buy better veggie burgers at Trader Joe’s here in San Jose, CA! My wife enjoyed her hamburger made with imported beef from the U. S.!

I’m from England and have visited many HRC’s and Bengaluru gets the award for the best ‘Hard Rock” burgers (beef) as well as the desified chicken burgers.
what are you guys playing at? do you really think that we Indians are only happy eating desified versions of everything and that we don’t know the difference between soft tender meat and hard rock minced meats?
this was a mockery. please ask the management to eat one of them and if you want a recipe for making soft brurgers from Indian chickens/cows, ask me. i’m a mother and i KNOW HOW to make tender burgers. I tell you, HRC, Benglauru i could teach you a thing or two about making appetising burgers. please don’t think that all Indians don’t know. btw the decor was as good as the food was bad.

Well we were just on our way to eat there but will go somewhere else. Indian food in Bangalore is out of this world but just fancied a burger. Never mind, can’t have too much curry!!
